It's been a long day. I just want to gist right now.
So my boss told me about a meeting we were to have with some clients today. He added, "Please, arrive early, and dress formally and conservatively."
In my mind, I was like; Did he have to spell out the word F-O-R-M-A-L-L-Y, for me to know I had to dress appropriately? I should know what to wear for a formal business meeting na.
But then, the word "formally" and "conservatively" ran through my head again and again. Ah, I had to make doubly sure I wasn't getting it twisted. So I asked Mr. Google. . .Lmho!
OMG! I saw the light. The search results were not what I had in mind. You know, light comes from knowing the truth about something. It brightens your world. It literally sets you free. I assumed I know, but I didn't! *phew* You don't want to know what I'd thought to wear. It could have cost me a job.
You should never assume you know until you know that you know that you know. Assuming things can cost you headaches, disappointments, embarrassments and unnecessary pain. Always ask questions. Asking questions, the right questions actually, will clear your doubts, fears and confusions.
This cuts across your business, relationship, career and life in general. Don't assume you know it already. Ask. Communicate. Seek clarifications.
Anyways, I wore a black pencil skirt on a sky blue corporate shirt with a bow tie. I guess I was FORMAL and CONSERVATIVE enough. *winks* That awesome moment when the question you asked saved you. It's a great feeling! I'm indeed grateful for today.
Yeah, I said I just wanted to gist. *blinks* Don't read this post, and assume that you know me already. Lol.
