Oyenike Laoye is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, singer and dancer. I've always loved her voice and music. And after reading about this feature on Saturday Punch Newspaper, I respect her.

The multiple award winning singer, Nikki Laoye revealed that she and her husband got married as virgins. She said contrary to popular belief that virgins have boring marriages and are clueless when it comes to making love, she said she knew what she was doing the first time they had sex because she had learnt a lot about sex education.

She said, "My husband was not surprised that I was a virgin. Even though I was a virgin when I got married, I had equipped myself with information on sex education. I preach to Christian ladies that they should not think because they are Virgins, they should not find out how to get things done because when they get there, they have work to do. It has been fun and an adventure for us because we are finding out things about ourselves."

Laoye said she decided to remain a virgin because being a very emotional person, she would not like to sleep with any man that she would not get married to. The songstress admitted that although she was tempted, she stuck to her vow.

She advised young ladies to abstain from pre-marital sex. She said sex is worth waiting for and that their husbands would respect them more.

"sex is worth waiting for and the truth is that if you do it, when you get married, you would have plenty of it. I have plenty of it and I am never tired of it because it is with someone I love. It is fun and we come up with crazy ideas and we are not guilty about our actions. It is worth waiting for and the man would respect you cos he knows you could have slept with every Tom, Dick and Harry but you chose to wait," she said.
